A Humble beginning for our Lord and Savior

I am sure we all have a picture in our mind of Joseph and Mary entering Bethlehem on what is now called Christmas Eve. Joseph leading the donkey, which pregnant Mary was riding. Joseph is desperate to find shelter for Mary to rest and be able to give birth. The destination would be a shelter for livestock with a manger for Baby Jesus.


This would be the surroundings of where Baby Jesus would be born. What a humble beginning for our Lord and Savior to enter the world. Born in a manger our Savior, who would save us from our sins.


With Christmas here, children are excited to open gifts that under the tree. To many it will be a sad time as they remember loved ones that are no longer here. This year has changed a lot of Christmas traditions. No matter how traditions change we need to keep Jesus as the focus.


However, when we keep the focus on Jesus, we can still have so much to be thankful for. Our Lord and Savior has come into the world in humble surroundings to pay the cost of our sins.


Luke 2:15-17

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,
