A Savior had been Born

My Christmas theme continues. Today I want to talk about what the angel of the Lord told the shepherds. I can’t say I am aware of ever seeing an angel; however, the bible does mention we might come across angels “Heb 13:2” without knowing it. It did terrify the shepherds who were guarding their flocks. But what a message the angels gave them.

Hebrews 13:2

Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it

The message the angels gave was that their Savior was born in the town of David. What a Christmas gift to have a Savior. We all need a Savior and God sent His Son Jesus to be the Savior for the world. This is the reason for the season, and this is why we need to keep our focus on Jesus.

Luke 2:8 - 11

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
