A Shout out to the Healthcare Workers

I want to give a shout out to the Healthcare workers in our lives. I do know a little about healthcare workers, my wife was a nurse for over 30 years. Healthcare workers have one of the toughest jobs in the world and if it wasn’t for their love of their profession and caring hearts towards people many would move to another line of work.

Both my wife and I are Christians. As Christians we have the privilege of praying to our Lord and Savior. My wife and I have developed the good habit of starting our day by praying together before heading out to our different jobs. Now that we have retired, we still do this morning practice of starting the day praying together. Prayer is the opportunity to praise God, give Him thanks, confess our sins, and ask for his blessings in our daily lives.

We live in a culture that promotes being self-sufficient and doing things in our own power. When we do this, it is easy to get frustrated, tired, and at times it is hard to love others like Jesus Christ would want us to. This applies to all of us, even healthcare workers.

One of things in my daily prayer for the day ahead of us. I ask for my Lord to give us the strength and to show His Love, Care and Compassion through our actions towards friends, family members, and people we come in contact with. Healthcare workers have to juggle family life, friends, then the stress of working in an environment that at times can be over-whelming. As Christians if we try to do things in our own strength, we can fall short, but with Christ helping us there is nothing we can’t do. With trust in God, He will help the Healthcare workers make it through these stressful times.

Remember to ask the Lord to empower each one of us to glorify Him in everything we say, we do, and we think about during the day.

Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”
