God is Sovereign in our Lives
Life does not always run on a smooth course. As a child of God, we are promised to go through trials in our lives. Rick Warren says, “God never wastes a hurt”. As we look back on our lives, we can see the ups and downs within our lives. Being a Christian, I don’t believe in chance circumstances. One of the attributes of God is His Sovereignty. Those who have heard me teach, know I talk about God’s Sovereignty in our lives. I put my faith and trust in a God who orchestrates the events of our lives. This doesn’t mean I won’t go through fiery trials, but I know God is orchestrating every event of my life. I know that God has a purpose for that trial. I don’t always know God’s purpose in what I am going through, but I trust in what God tells us in Romans 8. God works for the good of those who love him.
Romans 8:28
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
This verse strengthens my faith in God’s Sovereignty. I might not find out what God’s purpose is, but even if I don’t my faith can still be strong when I realize God is orchestrating whatever I am dealing with for my good because He loves me.
When you go through life with trust in God’s Sovereignty, you can go through anything. So, no matter what you are dealing with in life, remember God is in control and He has a purpose for you going through that trial.
Proverbs 16:33
The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.
Ephesians 1:11
In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will . . .
