Be a Blessing to Someone Today
You can be a blessing to someone today. One of the things I used to say to my Sunday School Class, “lets show God’s Love outside of the four walls of our Sunday School class”. As Christians we have been blessed by God in many ways. We need to take that Love we received from God and show it to the world.
The bible is filled with stories of God’s Love shown to mankind. It also shows man showing God’s Love to others. One example is the story of the good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37. The story is of a Samaritan showing God’s Love by having compassion on a man who had been robbed and beaten. The good Samaritan was a blessing to the stranger.
We can be a blessing to people we come in contact with. Look for ways of doing this. In our daily lives we come across people who have need of a blessing. It could be as simple as a word of encouragement. Pray with a person who needs their petition brought before God. Going to the grocery store for a elderly or sick person who should not go out during the pandemic. Bake some brownies for a family to show them you care. Bring a cup of coffee for someone you work with. Visit elderly that does not get many visitors. There are so many ways to show people you care about them and at the same time be a blessing to them.
The important thing in doing this good deed is to do it through Christ’s Love inside of us. When you do it with Christ’s Love you will not do it grudgingly. God is always interested in the intent we have in our heart.
So, start your day by praying that God will bring someone into your life that you can bless today. This will not only be a blessing to that person it will please God. That is a good thing!!!!
Proverbs 11:25…..The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
Hebrews 13:16……And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
