Because He Lives
Over the few thousand years of mankind there has been many deities worshiped. The Ancient Egyptians worshiped over 1500 deities and Ancient Canaanites worshiped over 500 deities. The Israelites were called the “Nomads of YHWH” Now out of all those gods worshiped in those ancient times, there is only one God that is still around. The same God the “Nomads of YHWH” worshiped. That is our God, our Lord, and Savior.
Friday and Saturday of Holy Week, Jesus had His trial, was crucified, died on the cross and was buried in the tomb. If Jesus stayed in the tomb, Christianity would have faded away just like those ancient religions that are not around today. However, as we wait for Easter Sunday and we celebrate Jesus Resurrection we believers can be so optimistic, “We serve a Risen Savior”.
Romans 10:9 (NIV)
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
The God we serve is alive. The gospel song “Because He lives” has a section that goes like this.
And because He lives, I can face tomorrow Because He lives, all fear is gone Because I know He holds the future And life is worth a living just because He lives
It’s Friday But Sunday’s Coming.
