“Facing Fear”

Updated: Oct 13, 2023

Psalm 56:3 (NIV)

3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

We all must walk through the door of fear in our lives. The bible tells us not to fear for anything, but if we are honest then there are times that we must deal with fear. It is these times that we need to draw upon a source that is bigger and stronger than ourselves. Don’t try to go it alone but call upon our Heavenly Father for help. He is there waiting to help us.

That is what fathers do. I remember as a little boy my family visited the Royal Gorge in Colorado. It has this large bridge crossing the gorge that had wooden boards that you could see through the slats all the way to the bottom of the gorge. I was frightened, but with my dad holding my hand I was able to walk across the bridge. Holding our father’s hand helps calm our fears.

Sometimes we try to keep our fears silent and be like the Lone Ranger. So don’t be afraid to call upon our Heavenly Father when we are frightened. These are the moments our deepest most sincere prayers happen. God is there listening to your prayers and there to calm your fears.

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
