“Focus on Following Jesus”

Philippians 3:13-14

“13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Whenever life takes an unexpected turn, it can be a slippery slope into traps of worry, self-pity, and bitterness. God intends for us to do otherwise.

There is an old saying,” Forgive and Forget”, there is a lot of truth to this. Sometimes forgiving is difficult and forgetting is sometimes impossible. When we can’t forget about yesterday’s troubles, we can learn from them. Yesterday has much to teach us about tomorrow. We can learn from the past, but we should never live in the past.

We need to live in the present. Spend your thoughts and energy on the opportunities that God has planned for you today.

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV)

18 “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.
