“Friends Praying for Friends”
This morning, I received a text message from one of the Deacons I used to serve with. It was encouraging as he mentioned he was praying for me. It is always encouraging when you have a brother who is strong in his faith pray for you. If you want to lift someone up, then let them know you are praying for them.
James 5:16
16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Here is the scripture he had in his text message.
Ephesians 3:14-21
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Praying this scripture over me my friend was praying that God strengthen my inner spiritual strength, with the indwelling Holy Spirit that is within all Christians. He is also praying for me to comprehend and have knowledge of God’s love allowing me to apply it in my life. This encouraged me all day long.
If you want to encourage someone, let them know you are lifting them up in prayer and add a verse that talks about what you're praying on.
