“God Doesn’t do Cancel Culture”

Aren’t you happy that God doesn’t do “Cancel Culture”? If He did, I would have been gone a long time ago. We have all seen in the news where “Cancel Culture” seems to make the headlines on a regular basis.

“Cancel Culture” - According to Dictionary.com, “Cancel culture refers to the popular practice of withdrawing support for (canceling) public figures and companies after they have done or said something considered objectionable or offensive. It's generally discussed as being performed on social media in the form of group shaming.” An example, of “Cancel Culture” in the news right now is a kid making a mistake with poor judgement at the age of 15 resurfacing when the kid is in college causing the kid to have to leave college.

As I look back over my life, I have done things that have been displeasing to God. Thankfully, our Lord and Savior shows us Grace and Mercy. If it wasn’t for the Love that God had for us, we all would be destined for “Hell”. But thankfully our God loved us so much, He sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. As a believer in Christ, my sins have been forgiven. Do I still mess up? Definitely, but as a Christian according to 1 John 1:9, even as a believer when we sin, we can confess our sins and God will forgive us of our sins.

1 John 1:9

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

God shows us Grace and Mercy everyday of our lives. So, thank God, He doesn’t do Cancel Culture. The bible warns us about judging others, we see in Matthew 7 that we shouldn’t judge others.

Matthew 7:1 – 5

1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
