“God is Our Companion”

This has been another great year for Terri and me. As we entered another year of retirement. We continued with our plan to travel. Terri and I have traveled close to 24,000 miles while visiting National Parks and 35 states. We have traveled from Texas to Maine to the Great Lakes and out west to the Rocky Mountains, Southwestern Deserts, and then to the Florida Keys. The three of us got along great and travel well together. You might ask, “what do you mean three of you”?

We had a traveling companion during all our travels. We had a traveling companion in the person of Christ. He is an intimate friend and has promised to never leave nor forsake us, no matter what’s going on in our life. We started each day praying to Him and asking Him to watch over us each day. He was there each day not only on our travels, but every day of our life. He was with us on our hikes, our bike rides, and He watched over my driving. He is with us all the time watching over us. What a comfort this is.

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Psalm 91 is one of those chapters in the bible that I read over and over. If you have not read it or it has been a while, I recommend reading it today, it only 16 verses, but 16 powerful verses.

Psalm 91:2

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Psalm 91:9-11

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
