God’s Beauty and Peace in Nature
God’s Beauty and Peace in Nature
Do you need a break from the politics and chaos that is in the news? If you are like me, it is refreshing to get away from the craziness and refresh myself. One of the ways for me to do this is get outdoors and see God’s beauty in Nature. Being in the outdoors gives me an inner peace and appreciation of what God created.
Getting to the outdoors can be different things to different people. It might be sitting on your patio early in the morning before anyone else is up in the house. It could be going for a drive on a scenic drive in your car. Yesterday, I had one of those days that gave me inner peace and appreciation of God’s beauty.
I started my day getting up early and got that coffee pot going. One of the things I inherited from my mother is appreciation for a strong cup of coffee. I am camping right now, so I sat outside my trailer and listened to nature wake up. The sound of the different birds in the woods was a great setting to do my morning devotion. Terri and I followed up the morning by going on a 2-hour hike. The woods and lake where we were hiking was soothing to the soul. Once back to the trailer we had a nice lunch and then went kayaking. While kayaking and watching the fish jump and Canadian Geese honking at me for breaking their peaceful routine. I could not help but appreciate the earth and nature that God created. If our earth is this beautiful, can you imagine how awesome heaven is going to look like.
Next time you are in the outdoors, put away the I-phone and just listen and watch nature and see God’s glory in what He created.
Psalm 19:1-6
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. 3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. 4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. 5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. 6 It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.
