“House of Prayer”
Is prayer important to you? If not, it should be the most important part of your Christian daily life. Most of us if not all of us have read the story of Jesus overturning the money changers in the temple courts. The most important words written in Matthew 21:12 is where Jesus, “says my house will be called a house of prayer”. Prayer is the conduit that we communicate with God. Jesus knew that and He found time each day to pray to His Father in heaven.
Matthew 21:12 - 13
12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”
We all have needs in our lives, our family have needs, our towns have needs, and you all know our country have needs that need God’s help. Have we asked Jesus to help us?
Jesus tells us to come to him in prayer and ask. He is there and waiting to listen to us.
Matthew 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
In Hebrews, it tells us to approach the throne of grace with confidence for help. We need God’s grace in our lives, our family’s lives, our towns and country issues. Jesus is telling us to take it to Him in prayer.
Hebrews 4:6
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Make the commitment to start each day this week, by taking your needs to the Lord in prayer.
