“Life is a Glorious Gift”
Psalm 37:4 (NIV)
“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart”
We are so fortunate to be living life as a Christian. It is great to know that our sins are forgiven, and that we will spend eternity in heaven. Sure, it is great to look forward to heaven, but we should also enjoy living now. Our Heavenly Father gives us so many blessings to enjoy now on earth.
It reminds me of a time I was witnessing to a young man who realized that he needed to accept Christ as his savior, but he wanted to wait, because he didn’t want to give up his fun lifestyle. Wow, what a risk this young man was taking, and his thinking was so off base. He was under the false impression that he couldn’t have fun as a Christian…. Big mistake. We don’t have to change before we come to Christ. Once we accept Christ the indwelling Holy Spirit starts working on us to change our heart and desires to align with Christ.
Accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior opens the door to so many blessings. Number one thing is freedom from the penalty of sin. Knowing Christ as our Savior is a life changing event. God wants our obedience to Him, and in Psalm 37:4 it says He will give you the desires of your heart. It isn’t always easy being a Christian as sometimes without realizing it we can drift from God. Thankfully, He never drifts from us.
As we start each day, we need to place God where He belongs in our mind, our prayers, and in our hearts. Then with God as our guide let the adventure begin.
