“Our Doubts and Questions”
Do you ever have doubts and questions about Jesus and a lot of why’s? Do not feel guilty about having questions and doubts about Jesus. His disciples who lived with Jesus had a lot of questions and did not fully grasp what His purpose was for coming to earth.
Even at the Last Supper as the disciples took their final meal with Jesus and He was giving them their final instructions; soon they would be scratching their heads after His crucifixion.
We read in John that Thomas didn’t realize that Jesus was going back to Heaven.
John 14:5-6 (NIV)
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
After all the teaching that Jesus did with the disciples and all the healings and miracles that He did with the miracles they didn’t fully understand what His purpose was.
After Jesus resurrection He said to Thomas, put your fingers into my side. Thomas still didn’t understand.
John 20:27 (NIV)
27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Just like Thomas, we all have doubts and questions; however, let’s keep our eyes focused on Jesus and let’s seek the answers to our questions. Some questions will not be answered this side of heaven.
