“Prayer is a Powerful Privilege

Being a follower of God isn’t always easy. This is true today, and as we read God’s Word it has never been easy throughout history. Look at the story of Daniel, he was a captive in a foreign land; however, Daniel knew that he was to pray to God three times a day. With a window open Daniel knelt on his knees toward Jerusalem and prayed and gave thanks before God. He had built this custom since his early days.

Daniel 6:10

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Daniel kept his relationship with God nurtured even when things looked desperate.

Prayer is a powerful tool in the life of a believer. In prayer, we acknowledge our need for Christ and ask for His solutions to our problems. We worship Him and grow spiritually as we talk with Him. God wants us to call upon Him. He created us with a need to have an intimate relationship with Him. Prayer deepens that intimacy by opening a line of communication with God. God always is available anytime we need Him, and He will speak to us through His Word, His Creation, or the Holy Spirit. Many times, God will allow difficulties in our lives so that our faith will be strengthen.

God honors the prayers of His people. If we go to Him, seeking Him earnestly and obeying His commands then He will provide all you need.

1 John 5:14-15

14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have what we asked of him.
