Search me God

David was described as a man after God’s own heart. David wasn’t perfect by any means, but he did strive to walk close to God. Even with David’s ups and down he wanted to always restore his relationship with God.

Sometimes we can fool ourselves into thinking I am doing OK, everything is right with God when actually it might not be. David courageously asked God to conduct an internal evaluation This was a brave request considering God knows all things, even that which we hide from ourselves. Would we be that courageous to ask God to evaluate our life.

David did this in Psalm 139 verses 23 and 24. It reads below.

Psalm139: 23 -24.

23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

In order to live a Christian life where our relationships are close and intimate with God, we have to deal with the sin in our lives. The Christian life is hard, and we need to walk in a constant state of repentance.

Are we at a point in our Christian walk where we would ask God to do an internal evaluation of our life? With the goal being to remove anything that would cause a barrier between us and God. We must surrender to Him: believing His infinite understanding of who we are is far superior than our finite perspective.
