“Spiraling Out of Control”

Does life ever feel like it is spiraling out of control? I am sure we all have had times in our lives where we felt like things were spiraling out of control. I know I have had those times. Thinking about those times. Maybe it is a child that is struggling in life. Costs of things keep going up and your income is not keeping up. Maybe your marriage has conflict, you both love each other, but there is conflict in many areas of your marriage. The job can be going along great and then it seems like our job security is uncertain. Do we struggle with a rebellious attitude or a critical attitude. Any of these can cause conflict in our spiritual walk with God. This also filters into other relationships in our lives. So, our conflict in our lives can cause hurt in the lives of those we love. It can hurt our spouse, our children, our friends, our family members. God did not intend for us to live in conflict. God wants us to experience the fruit of the Spirit.

What is the fruit of the Spirit?

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

The conflicts we experience in our lives can steal the fruit of the Spirit from being in exhibited in our lives. Conflict can steal our joy, our peace, our patience, our gentleness, our self-control and even our love. It is a choice we make.

How do you break that tension, stress and all the conflict? By surrendering to the Lord, by turning your life over to Him, by saying, "God, the way I've been living doesn't work. That's not the way I want to live in my life".

This is where the battle is fought. You have Satan on one side telling you that you don’t need this spiritual stuff. Then God telling you that you have a choice to seek after God. The choice is yours.

When you choose to follow and seek after God you can experience God’s love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control peace.
