“Summits and Valleys”
In life we have times when we reach the mountain top, and the view can be breathtaking. We can’t stay on the mountain top forever; we must also go through the valleys. The valleys can be filled with struggles, bad news on health issues, family issues, job issues. Things that challenge our faith. These can be times that we feel God has left us.
The disciples had to deal with the valleys also. They had lived an incredible experience of living with Christ for three years watching Him heal people, perform miracles. Imagine the conversations they had in the evenings while traveling with Jesus sitting around a campfire. However, the time came when they had to go into the valley. Their faith was shaken after Jesus' capture. Peter denied Christ three times. They went into hiding fearing for their safety after Jesus' crucifixion.
However, God knows what He is doing in our life. He has a plan for each of us. It might include trips to the mountain top, but it will also have trips that take us to the valley. The thing is…. God is with us all along the way.
Psalm 121: 1-3, 8 (NIV)
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Thank You heavenly Father for giving us a strong foothold in our lives through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ…without Him we have no hope and no future…may the Lord God Jesus Christ bless you and keep you well…
In The Name of Jesus…Amen…
