Taking Jesus outside the Four Walls of Your Church
Matthew 5:15-16 (NIV)
5 :15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Does anyone outside of your church know you are a Christian? Does your family know you’re a Christian? How about your golf buddies, or your coworkers? Does your bible sit on the shelf where you put it the last time you went to church? The point is we need to live the Christian life all week every day. Let your light shine to the world.
The people we come in contact with should be able to tell we are Christians. Is it easy? It isn’t easy and if we are honest there have been days that we have failed “guilty here”. The thing is to confess our sins and keep moving forward.
1 John 1:9 (NIV)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
So, this week let your light shine to the world around you.
