“Thank God for Grace”

Updated: Oct 20, 2023

Ephesians 2:8 (NIV)

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God”

God’s grace is unmerited favor and is not because of anything we have done to earn it. We experience God’s grace in our salvation as we did nothing to earn it. We experience God’s grace in living the Christian life.

Today, we live in an environment where cancel culture is making the news every day. Thankfully, we have a Savior that did not cancel us out because of our sins. God showed us Grace and Mercy. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and offers forgiveness for our sins when we put our faith and trust in what He did on the cross. What an example of unconditional love, Christ showed for us.

Instead of cancelling someone out, we should use every possible opportunity to forgive and to reach out with the gospel and the love of Christ, always remembering that we, too, are sinners in need of the Savior.

The world will hate and try to cancel out Christians for what they stand for. Jesus was blunt: “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you”. Paul added his warning: “All who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and imposters will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived”

2 Timothy 3:12-13 (NIV)

12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
