“The Sun Will Shine”

In the Navy there were two great feelings that were tough to beat. One was the thrill of getting underway and the other was getting ready to pull into port. We referred to it as “Channel Fever”. I can remember one time when we were getting ready to pull into San Diego, we couldn’t because there was a storm in the Pacific, and it was too rough for our ship to go into the ship channel. Once the storm passed what a great feeling of relief to have the storm clouds move on and the sun finally come out.

The same thing happens with the storms we face in life. We get to a point where we see the light in the distance and we are ready to get up, brush ourselves off, and move on. Keep our faith strong for the next storm could be on the horizon.

It makes me wonder the human feeling Jesus felt after being tempted by Satan in the wilderness. Was the battle with Satan over. No, Jesus always was alert and knew what His adversary was trying to do.

1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV)

13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong

We have to always be alert because we never know when we might face a storm. Remember that God allows the storm but will always be with us through the storm. Then that day will come when the sun starts to shine.
