Walk in Humility
Humility and pride come from two different ends of the spectrum. Pride is a two-edged sword that can be a good thing and can be bad. I think we can all probably agree it is important to take pride in oneself, this helps motivate us to improve ourselves. A person can have a feeling of satisfaction over what we’ve accomplished. Many of my sport coaches I had growing up instilled in our team pride for doing our best. Even in the bible, the writer of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament declared, “Nothing is better than that a man should rejoice in his own works” (Ecclesiastes 3:22). So, pride in one’s work can be good.
However, we can go down the wrong path with pride. Sinful pride is self-centered and boastful and makes us take credit for everything we are and everything we do. Instead of realizing that we are dependent on God, in our pride we ignore God and believe we can get along without Him. The Bible says, “In the pride of your heart you say, ‘I am a god …’ But you are a mere mortal and not a god” (Ezekiel 28:2).
Humility on the other hand means the quality of being humble and means putting the needs of another person before your own and thinking of others before yourself. It also means not drawing attention to yourself, and it can mean acknowledging that you are not always right. Humility is the ability to be without pride or arrogance and it is a main character that should be seen in those who follow Jesus Christ. Jesus is the best example of someone who humbly followed God's plan for His life.

But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
James 4:10
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
