“When Bad news Challenges our Faith”
Life is full of challenges that seem normal for all of us. There are the challenges of raising a family, making your family run smoothly. Then there are the challenges of having a job and trying to make ends meet. We get used to challenges in our everyday life that seem very normal. All these challenges help strengthen our faith. This is part of life that we can expect. In fact, Jesus promised us that we would face many difficult trials.
However, there can be times in our life when we receive bad news that challenges our faith. It could come from the Doctor telling you a serious diagnosis. The boss telling you the company is downsizing and your job is being eliminated. Your spouse tells you they are leaving. You find out your child has a disability. You find out your mother or father has Dementia. The sudden loss of a loved one. Any of these can challenge our faith and shake our faith to the core.
Many people have won the Trifecta by having multiple of these “life altering events”. At some point in our life, we are going to be faced with a life altering event. In order to keep our faith strong during these times we have to be rooted in God.
At times like this, we need to pray and ask God to increase our faith in Him. This is also a time to ask a brother or sister in Christ to pray for you. It can be hard to do when you are devastated but pray. God knows what you are going through, and He is good at listening evening if your prayer is full of tears.

Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
