“Where do you put your Worth”

Have you ever had a time in your life when you had low self-esteem? That can happen when try to judge your self-worth through the lens of the world and what the world puts value in. The world values power, fame, fortune, beauty, and materialism. This can lead people to feel unworthy when they don’t measure up. We have all seen tragic headlines where a young actor or actress who seemed to have everything the world can offer takes their life tragically.

We can’t look at our self-worth by the world’s value system. We need to ask ourselves how does God value us? If we look at John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. This verse shows that God values us and loves us so much that he gave his son to die for us.

Romans 8 is one of my favorite chapters in the bible. If you have any doubt about your self-worth read Romans 8:31 – 35 and if that doesn’t raise your self-esteem nothing will. Our creator, our Lord and Savior puts great value in all.

Romans 8:31-35

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

These are powerful words that should lift everyone’s self-worth.
