“Words to Live by”

Jesus did not have any formal training. He never went to theological college, but He knew the scriptures thoroughly. When Jesus was in His early thirties, He would teach in the temple, and He developed a following of people that would come early in the morning to listen to His teachings.

Luke 21:37-38 (NIV)

37 Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives, 38 and all the people came early in the morning to hear him at the temple.

Jesus’ teachings are the most powerful words that have ever been spoken. We still read them today and they have changed lives throughout the ages. Jesus described His message to the Samaritan women at the well that He had living water.

John 4:13-14 (NIV)

13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Jesus shared the words of life and love. We still hear this same message when we read His Word today.
